What is Conflict Management about?
Conflict in a workplace setting can be a normal part of doing business. Conflict, when properly managed, can be beneficial; as it fosters an environment of healthy competition. However, conflict may also have a detrimental effect. As a manager or business owner, you need to be aware of potential sources of conflict within your work environment.
I've learned that conflict happens for a reason. Ultimately the goal is a win-win situation, regardless of what technique is used. Knowing yourself and taking time to examine who you are on a regular basis can often end a conflict before it even gets started.
What I learned following the eLearning conflict management course is that conflict cannot end until both sides can live with the resolution and it must be pushed until all issues are aired and resolved.
